NO ONE can deny that we are creatures of habit. We hate routines, but we always seem to find ourselves stuck in them. We are always doing things that we know are not good for us and it almost seems like we enjoy putting ourselves in situations that make us suffer. Sometimes we’d rather be comfortably unhappy than happily uncertain.

Here are six important things you need to stop doing now if you want to change your life for the better:

QUIT THE HABIT OF STOPPING:

Some people say that when you really want to quit something, it means you are close to reaching the goal. The problem is we are silly to think things will be easy. I don’t know about you, but I never got a memorandum telling me that life was going to be easy at all.

Most people have no idea what the word commitment really means. When you commit to something you are supposed to see it all the way to the end. If you never made it to the end of a hard goal, you have never committed to anything and this should be something that worries you. The more you stop to hesitate, the longer it will take to get things done, so just do it and get focused until you reach the goal.

STOP LEAVING THINGS UNTIL TOMORROW:

There is no worst enemy of productivity and success than procrastination. When you are always postponing something you are either too afraid to do it or too lazy to do it. In either case you are halting your progress.

STOP BEING THE VICTIM:

People can tend to victimise themselves too much and this is a huge mistake. There might be some exceptions when people really have no choice, but for the most part people can alter the way things are going for them as long as they have the courage to change things.

Some people keep themselves caged in terrible jobs that are headed to a dead end, while others torture their lives with a damaging and unhealthy relationships. Disaster! You do have a way out of any situation if you really want to get out.

……………………………………………………………..

LEARN TO STOP SAYING YES:

Each time we say yes to something, we are saying no to something else. If you say yes to the idea of going out to party all night on a work day, you are saying no to a productive morning the next day. If you say yes to watching TV for three hours every night, you are saying no to using that time to learn something useful that you can apply in everyday life.

Once you learn to determine what is worth saying yes to, you will be on your way to a more productive and successful life.

STOP EXPECTATIONS:

A good example of expecting things and being stuck is when you have been working hard at a job for several years and you know you deserve a promotion, but you still get no signs of that happening at all.

The solution is simple; If you really think you deserve to be promoted at your place of employment, you need to take the initiative and ask for a promotion. The world of the successful is for the bold.

If you expect things to fall on your lap and just come to you, you will probably never make it very far. No one is out there waiting to give you thanks or launch you into success. You have to work your way up on your own. You might get to meet some people who will help you along the way, but for the most part, you are supposed to do it all if you want it.

DO NOT AVOID THINGS:

Remember, the only way to be happy and successful is to work hard to achieve what you want. If you get things without effort, you don’t really appreciate them and this is the reason why a lot of powerful people who had everything handed out to them are very unhappy.

Make sure that you get into the habit of taking on difficult tasks because this is what is going to build your character and make you a much stronger and better person.
