There are plenty of recurring hoaxes and false alarms going on at Facebook at all times. Some of them say that if you don’t share a message on the network asking Facebook to allow you to keep your account, they will delete it. Others tell you that if you don’t give a like to a certain photo or video, you will be blacklisted by Facebook as someone who is not supportive of good causes. The problem that people don’t realize is that this kind of hoaxes are nothing but tricks that shady marketers pull in order to get money from the clicks of all of those people that buy into those hoaxes.
There is a very popular hoax that is related to the privacy and the ownership of everything that people post on Facebook. Their TOS clearly states that Facebook has the right to share and distribute your content, but they do not own it. This is the reason why you should never be worried about some random announcement that says that Facebook is going to steal all of your photos and information for profit.
People need to understand a bit more about how places like Facebook work and they can’t continue to be so naive about the tactics that black hat marketers will use in order to get some clicks. The worst part is that in some cases they are nothing but jokes and hoaxes that are only meant to scare people with no profit being involved. The truth is that usually there will be something behind this system and it’s usually meant to harvest profiles for marketing purposes at the very least.
Always keep in mind that these announcements and this kind of tactics are never approved by Facebook. When Facebook has something important to announce, they will make sure that people get it in a way that is legitimate. You should never pay attention to any messages that come in your news feed because Facebook does not own your material, they just have the right to share it.
Anyone that goes into Facebook should always use the network carefully to begin with. You should never share any compromising information in documents, photos or videos and this is the way to make sure that things run smoothly for you while using this platform. This is the best way to avoid feeling like your information could be stolen. If you don’t post anything that you find to be too personal or private, you won’t be feeling anxious about what Facebook could do with the content you upload to it.
In conclusion you need to stop worrying about those hoaxes and this is going to allow you to use the network freely without any worries about who owns the right to your content.
